When I was asked if we’d like to review the new Brewers Fayre in Southend this Mothers Day I jumped at the chance. Of course in theory my kids spend the whole of Mothers Day prepping a lovely meal for me but actually at one and four the best I’m going to get is a biscuit. This way I could relax while someone else shopped, cooked and cleaned up afterwards. The Brewers Fayre in Southend has only been open a few weeks and this was our first visit to it, here’s what we thought!

Snufflebabe Review and Very Snuffley Baby!
A few weeks ago my youngest was diagnosed with asthma. She’d been coughing loads in the night until she’d vomit everywhere, it was like a poor quality flashback to her reflux days and just as stressful. Officially, I know that asthma ‘shouldn’t’ be diagnosed until two but her pump seems to be helping. One of the things that seems to set her off though is having a cold so when I was asked if I’d like to take part in a review for Snufflebabe I jumped at the chance, after all anything that has the potential to help is worth investigating!

Awesome Lego Activities and Movie Review
Recently my son has stopped having a nap in the afternoon. I know. It was a sad day I can tell you. And while I was kinda hoping he’d start again when he returned to playgroup after the holidays it would appears that’s not to be the case. Today’s new parenting issue is therefore that he is beyond tired by 2pm so when we were offered the chance to review The Lego Movie I thought it would be a good way to help us chill out in the afternoon and as the activities for children’s books that I shared recently were so popular I thought why not share some lego activities to do after you’ve watched the film?

How to make a tag blanket
With two small kids I’m always trying to think of crafts I can do very, very quickly. I thought it might be fun to do a tutorial on how to make a tag blanket as I knew it would be something my daughter would enjoy and therefore also meaning I felt rightious in doing some sewing rather than the housework! I did the majority of this while she had a nap and (as she woke up earlier than planned, boooo), finished the last bit after she’d woken up. I think the whole thing took less than an hour which makes this not only a ‘how to make a tag blanket’ but also a ‘how to get stuff done very quickly while your kids nap’!
