Rediscovering Inspiration with Mollie Makes

28th February 2018 by Kate Williams | 7 Comments

A funny thing about writing a craft blog is that everyone expects you to do a lot of crafts. It seems like a fair presumption really, after all it was one of the main reasons I started this blog. I had this idea that writing about crafts would increase my craftiness, suddenly my quilting would improve, I’d be able to crochet and I’d be making the most amazing jewellery. Over the years my photography has improved, I’m certainly making cuter stuff but quilting and the other stuff? Nope. Actually I’m so busy with this I probably have less time than ever for my own crafting.

Pines and Needles Review: A Great Tree For A Great Christmas

30th November 2017 by Kate Williams | 8 Comments

The same as with most homes at this time of year, Christmas is a very big deal around here. Birthday’s are great but Christmas is the day when everyone gets something and everyone is cheerful, not just your immediate family but friends and other family you see on the day or even the strangers you wish Merry Christmas to when you pass them in the street. The thing that for us really signifies the start of the Christmas build up is when we get and decorate our Christmas tree – once that’s there there’s no denying it’s nearly Christmas and so we were all super excited when Pines and Needles asked if we’d like to review one of their Christmas trees.

DIY Scented Candle

28th April 2017 by Kate Williams | 8 Comments

One of my resolutions for this year was to start and do a bit more crafting for myself again. Obviously I share loads of craft ideas on here but ironically this has lead to me doing far less crafting for myself these days which is a bit of a shame. When Sarah from Evermore contacted me to ask if I’d like to try out their DIY scented candle making kits I jumped at the chance as I knew that this would force me to put a bit of ‘me-time’ aside and of course it helped that the candles themselves looked fabulous.

Biscuiteers Mother’s Day Bouquet Biscuit Tin Review

Updated on 28th April 2023 by Kate Williams | 7 Comments

Mother’s Day can be a bit tricky to buy for. As a mum myself most of the things on my wish list wouldn’t cost anything, a full nights sleep, dinner without complaints and drinking a cup of tea while it’s still hot. Unfortunately, while those things are free, several years of parenting has also taught me that they’re also wildly over ambitious and probably never going to happen. Besides, if truth be told, I think I’d be a bit miffed if I woke up and was informed that my cup of hot steaming tea was in fact my Mother’s Day gift and could I now crack on as no one can get the wi-fi to work. So what does make a good Mother’s Day present? Well for me a great present is something you’ve fancied for a while but haven’t really been able to justify, and that’s where the Biscuiteers Mother’s Day Bouquet Tin comes in.

What We Wore: JoJo Maman Bebe 4-in-1 Waterproof Polarfleece Jacket

31st October 2016 by Kate Williams | 10 Comments

I’m not sure if it’s true or just my opinion but I’m sure that in Cornwall the weather seems to change quicker than it did in Essex. I seem to have sent my son into school in the wrong school uniform most days, him wearing trousers and jumpers while his friends are in shorts or vice versa. With autumn arriving it’s certainly been cooler and we’ve had some really rainy days but as a family we’ve been making a concerted effort to still get out and enjoy the outdoors whenever we can.
