I was really excited to be asked by Harveys if I’d like to work with them on their Spring By You campaign. My home is a mixture of things I’ve bought, things I’ve made and things that I’ve done up (plus all the kids stuff!) and I love to try and be a bit creative around our home where I can. Spring is the perfect excuse to get your home how you want it and today I’m sharing a tutorial for a simple DIY monogram applique that I made for my daughters room.
This week has seemed a bit manic with one thing and the other, the youngest is still not napping *weeps* the eldest seems to have a million appointments about starting school and the housework fairy has failed to turn up. Again. Some relief this week has come though in the form of hunting out these gorgeous mini planters for you. I think there’s nothing like a bit of nature in your home and garden to perk-up your mood and these beauties certainly all do the job.
The other week in our local woods I saw some huge lumps of wood and instantly started planning at least a million tutorials with them. Then my dad kindly reminded me I had no room for huge lumps of wood at home. Boo. However he also pointed out that he had loads of bits of wood at home I could have and I figured if nothing else I would have room for some wooden drink coasters! Go me!
A couple of weeks ago I was invited by Direct Blinds to renovate a piece of furniture and as you can imagine I didn’t need asking twice! I love changing things to make them look prettier and with the discovery of a stained Ikea chest of drawers I figured this would not only be a great opportunity to try my first Ikea hack but also to indulge my love of the spray paints and try to create an ombre chest of drawers.
In my dream world that I like to think about after a few drinks, I live in a cottage in a field in Cornwall. I listen to folk music all day and do quilting and my children play nicely outside. Bliss huh? Lets leave it at that! I think everyone has a hankering for luxurious crafts, the ones that make you feel like you’re living that dream lifestyle. Thankfully the blogs I’m sharing this week make it feel like it might be more achievable than you think. (Though if anyone wants to buy me that cottage go for it!)
