One month of packed lunch ideas

Updated on 25th June 2021 by Kate Williams | 5 Comments

This list and printable for one month of packed lunch ideas is part of a #backtoschool #shop hosted by Collective Bias. All the opinions in it are my own. Packed lunches are a funny one. I always start each term with the idea that I am going to be the perfect mum with loads of cool bento stuff packed full of nutritional value that my kids will happily wolf down. About three days into each term though reality bites, I realise I haven’t ordered any bread and I’m running around looking for PE kits and library books and the pretty stuff just isn’t happening.

Over time I’ve learnt that the best thing for me is to plan my kids lunches out, that way I’m making sure they don’t have a cheese sandwich and an apple every day and I’m not quite so panicked. As it’s something that helps me I thought it might help other people too so today I’m sharing a free printable with a whole month of lunch box ideas.

Low Fat Unicorn Hot Chocolate

Updated on 18th July 2017 by Kate Williams | 5 Comments

Last night my son and I made unicorn hot chocolate and it was the absolute bomb. It’s not often I write about food or drink but with the kids at school today I kept thinking about how damn good it was and I thought, well, I’ll just make another one for myself because who says kids should get all the cool stuff?! As a January treat this is even better though because it’s a low fat unicorn hot chocolate – yep – all the pretty without any of the guilt, even my super-strict-dieting husband gave one of these a go. They’re also super easy to make which means you and your kids can follow this unicorn hot chocolate recipe together.

Healthy Disney Inspired Food for Kids

2nd February 2016 by Kate Williams | 2 Comments

Are your kids healthy eaters? Mine are better than they used to be (woohoo!) but they’re still not as big fans of healthy food as I’d like them to be (boo!). I was challenged by Disney and BritMums to come up with some fun Disney inspired food to get my kids to eat a healthy breakfast and a vegetable snack so we took inspiration from their favourite Disney films, Frozen and The Lion King to make some food that I thought they’d try out! You can watch the video below to see how well it went and check out my instructions for these fun ideas in the post below!
