This list and printable for one month of packed lunch ideas is part of a #backtoschool #shop hosted by Collective Bias. All the opinions in it are my own. Packed lunches are a funny one. I always start each term with the idea that I am going to be the perfect mum with loads of cool bento stuff packed full of nutritional value that my kids will happily wolf down. About three days into each term though reality bites, I realise I haven’t ordered any bread and I’m running around looking for PE kits and library books and the pretty stuff just isn’t happening.

Over time I’ve learnt that the best thing for me is to plan my kids lunches out, that way I’m making sure they don’t have a cheese sandwich and an apple every day and I’m not quite so panicked. As it’s something that helps me I thought it might help other people too so today I’m sharing a free printable with a whole month of lunch box ideas.

If there’s one thing you know as a parent about the kids going back to school it’s that it’s expensive. Even if by some miracle your kids school shoes still fit and look half decent there’s always something you didn’t realise you were going to have to pay for – we’ve had three different school uniforms for my son in three years so believe me I feel your pain. In way by trying to even out the expenditure I thought it would be good to share some free back to school printables. There’s practical things like morning plans, cute stuff like lunchbox notes and fun things like cake wrappers too so there should be something here for everyone!

Tips for preparing your child for starting school

Somehow the impossible has happened, this is my son’s last ever week at playgroup. I’m not quite sure how this can be the case since I’m fairly certain he only started a few weeks back but come September he’ll be starting school. That’s particularly crazy as it’s just taken me three attempts to write school, I’m not sure I’m ready for this! Like most mums I’m not super panicking about him starting, however I do want to make the transition as easy and enjoyable for him as possible, so with that in mind I asked the super wise ladies over on the Crafts on Sea Facebook page for their advice on preparing your child for starting school as well as the advice of some of my blogging friends and there’s a few things we’re doing thrown in here too!
