We’re just back from being on holiday which always means one thing for us – the kids can be pretty much guaranteed to bring home a crazy amount of seashells with them! Living near the beach anyway we’re no stranger to making a lot of sea crafts for kids, but I thought it would be fun to round up some seashell crafts for kids to help give us a bit of inspiration for our haul! Sometimes a challenge comes through at just the right time and for us there couldn’t have been a better time to be asked to make a bouquet out of baby clothes. My days with a newborn are pretty much a hazy sleep deprived memory at the moment but my kids are about to welcome cousins into the family for the first time – so exciting! I originally thought I’d be doing this craft on my own but when my four year old son saw what I was doing he wanted to be involved too, this really was a joint effort. This cute craft would be a great baby shower idea or is just a fun gift to make for a mum to be!

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve shared a couple of posts on the Crafts on Sea Facebook page about quiet books and each time they’ve gone slightly crazy! People love quiet books and I can see why, they’re a great gift that you can make for your kid and they can help chill them out and help them learn at the same time. Fantastic! Seeing as they were so popular I thought it would be fun to make a little round up of some inspirational quiet book ideas. This weekend we had a brilliant day out at a beach hut on Mersea Island. It was so chilled out, nothing to do but chill in a deck chair while the kids played with buckets and spades and hunted for crabs. We love sea crafts for kids and as we had all day to laze around I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to try out some fun beach activities for kids from the book!

Do your kids come home from the beach carrying loads of seashells? I know mine do and to be honest I’m often known to pop a couple in my pocket myself, I normally have no idea what to do with them but I can’t resist pretty things! I had an idea earlier this week about using them to make some kind of seashell decorations and as chance would have it we made these one day and decided to decorate my son’s room in a seaside theme the next day. Room decorations at the ready – boom!
