I seem to have cultivated a mild addiction recently to buying vintage teacups. Not a bad thing but I only normally drink tea by the half pint! As a result I’ve rather got myself into trying some DIY teacup craft ideas and a friend suggested that it might be fun to try and make a pincushion with one so this teacup pincushion tutorial is the result! Sadly, it does mean I can no longer drink tea from this cup but at least it means I have an excuse to have it lying around and hopefully to go and buy more vintage teacups? Here’s hoping!
As the mother of two small children I’m not remotely ashamed to admit that I spend half my life in Starbucks, caffeine is after all the main part of my healthy balanced diet. The other day in there The Toddler decided that their marshmallow pops were exactly what he needed in his life right now. Now, I’m all in favor of an easy life (especially when it means I get to drink coffee) so I didn’t mind getting tapped up, however I did wonder if I could make these myself at home and shock horror they are super easy. I’m quite happy to munch on these myself but obviously you are welcome to feed them to your kids and I think they would look great at a childrens birthday party.

After spotting these gorgeous feathers a couple of weeks back in my local fabric shop I knew I had to have them! I’m a little bit obsessed with making garlands (so much quicker and more fun than proper bunting I think) so a feather garland seemed like the perfect thing for me to make!
The other day I was mentally berating myself a bit for not having made anything yet for Valentines day and I suddenly remembered, I have bunting! Go me! In fairness I made this a couple of years back, just before I started this blog and a very small, slightly dodgy picture of it made it’s way into one of my first ever posts about how to make super quick felt bunting, but I figure as that was nearly two years ago and basically only me and my mum saw the post, it might be ok to look at it again?! After all, it is nearly Valentines Day, who doesn’t want some quick Valentines bunting?!
Since I learnt how to make cushions myself I’ve been loathe to buy any in the shops (and if you don’t know how to make cushion covers, check out my tutorial here, it’s dead easy.) The other day I came across a cloud shaped cushion and I wondered if I could make one myself. A bit of faffing, a ponder over a glass of wine and ta-da! It was done, so I thought I would share this cloud cushion tutorial so you can make one too!
