Button Flower Craft for Kids

Updated on 3rd March 2020 by Kate Williams | 3 Comments

Button Flowers

This simple button flower craft is great for fine motor skills and is a fun flower craft that’s perfect for spring or summer. While making this with my kids we had a good chat about colours and shapes too so it’s got lots off educational benefits as well as looking good too!

To make these button flowers you will need:

Cardboard

Glue

Scissors

Buttons

How to Make Your Button Flowers:

These button flowers are really easy both to make as as a quick craft to set up for your children.

Start by cutting a flower shape out of card, card is much better than paper for this craft because it’s able to hold the weight of the glue and buttons a bit better, you don’t want your flower falling apart! Don’t fancy drawing the flower shape yourself? No problem, just grab our free flower template to use with this craft.

If you’d like to add a centre to your flower do so now so using a different coloured card. It’s best to add this before you add the buttons so that you don’t run out of room.

Spread some glue onto the petals of the flower and you can now add your buttons, PVA glue (school glue) works best for this as the heavy weight of the buttons means you’ll need something stronger than a glue stick.

Bubble Wrap Alien Craft for Kids

Updated on 5th November 2018 by Kate Williams | 1 Comment

Like all sensible parents I try and use what materials we have lying around to keep the kids entertained so when we had some wine delivered in bubble wrap this week I knew we were onto a winner! We love thinking up activities and crafts for toddlers so after spending some time stomping on the bubble wrap to see if we could burst it (we couldn’t) we carted it outside with our craft supplies to make this sweet bubble wrap alien craft for kids.

Wooden Clothes Pin Dragonfly Craft

2nd June 2016 by Kate Williams | 1 Comment

You know those bloggers who have all their posts planned out for months in advance? Hey that’s not me, I have two kids, it’s all flying by the seat of my pants stuff over here, so even though I only just shared the cute clothes pin ants we made the other day I’m now sharing this sweet dragonfly craft with you. Why? Well we made them at the same time, my youngest saw the ants and wanted something of her own. At two years old making these herself was a bit beyond her so we made these sweet dragonflies for her to play with. Of course she told me that they’re actually butterflies but that’s kids for you.

Wooden Clothes Pin Ant Craft

27th May 2016 by Kate Williams | 3 Comments

This cute wooden clothes pin ant crafts was a bit of a joint project by my son and I after we saw these sweet clothes pin butterflies on I Heart Crafty Things. Ours are slightly less colourful though and more influenced by our bug hunts on the way home from school. They’re still fun to make though and great to play with afterwards!

Frozen Paints

Updated on 20th November 2018 by Kate Williams | Leave a Comment

As we’re moving house soon I’m trying to have a clear out of my craft supplies which, to put it nicely, are rather overstocked. We love activities for toddlers so these frozen paints are super simple to make and both my toddler and older son enjoyed making them and painting with them too.
