I always find summer a bit of a tricky time for crafting as both me and the kids just want to go out and enjoy the most of the sunshine but with the start of the autumn months we all seem to settle down and start to want to do some more crafting again and what could be more right for this time of the year than a little autumn tree craft? This craft is good on a number of levels – it’s an excuse to make some popcorn (totally winning), your kids get to paint and create with an unusual crafting product and you can talk about colours and the seasons. Oh, and the popcorn, make sure you make too much, yeah?!

Super Cute Apple Tree Crafts For Kids
I love autumn and the changing of seasons, one of our favourite things to do every year is to visit an orchard if we can and go apple picking – and of course trying a few along the way! There are loads of cool apple tree craft ideas out there and they’re a fun activity to do with your kids either as a way of extending an outing to an orchard or as a way of celebrating Harvest Festivals, these are just some of my favourites!
DIY Butterfly Number Stones
I think that after making our DIY story stones last week I might have become a little obsessed with painting on stones, it’s such a quick and easy way to make something that the kids can use and of course they look really pretty too! These DIY number stones can be made in about ten minutes and today I’m sharing my tips on how to make them as well as some ideas on how you can use them with kids of different ages and abilities. I’ve been using this set with both my two year old and my five year old so they’re good for activities for toddlers as well as school age children and they’ve both enjoyed this pretty little way to do some learning!
Driftwood Aliens
Do you hunt on the beach for treasure? My kids do, and actually I do a lot too. Beach treasure tends not to be silver and gold that pirates have hidden (sorry, I’d appreciate that too) but shells, pretty stones, sea glass and driftwood. The problem of course is then what to do with your treasure, we’ve previously made seashell decorations and DIY story stones and today we decided to make something with this driftwood craft for kids.
Sea Story Stones DIY
Every now and again I make something that puts a smile on my face just thinking about it and today these sea story stones are that thing. In the past I’ve shared a lot of sea crafts for kids but I still feel like a not overly artistic person so I do panic a little bit before I start any project. Will it work? Will it look ok? But from the moment I started this project I was just so happy with how it went and even better – the kids absolutely loved them and have been playing with them all day, I kept hearing my son tell my daughter stories of pirates, boats and jellyfish when I was getting their lunch ready. Of course now that I’ve figured out how to make these super cute stones it seems only right to share this story stones DIY with you!
