Updated on 1st November 2017 by Kate Williams | Leave a Comment

My kids love hunting for minibeasts when we’re out and about and they love making minibeast crafts too! Today I’m sharing some fun things that we’ve made as well as some fantastic minibeast activities from some of my favourite bloggers. With ladybirds, butterflies, spiders and bees, what’s not to love about these cute ideas?!

Dragonfly Suncatcher Craft

Updated on 18th August 2022 by Kate Williams | 2 Comments

Today we’ve been making making this sweet dragonfly suncatcher craft. I don’t know about you but I think there’s something quite magical about dragonflies, I don’t get to see many and when I do they always look like they’ve flown straight out of a Harry Potter novel or something!

Both me and my daughter are obsessed with contact paper, me because it’s cheap and makes pretty stuff and it’s fab with crafts like this for fine motor skills so it makes for great crafts for toddlers.

She loves the feel of it and the bright colours so this was a great craft for after preschool.

Simple Fresh Flower Playdough

Updated on 20th November 2018 by Kate Williams | Leave a Comment

We love sharing sensory play ideas for kids and been doing a lot of sensory activities with flowers in the last couple of weeks at my daughter’s insistence, I think we’re just both very pleased to see some decent weather arrive and some flowers along with it! This fresh flower playdough only takes a couple of minutes to make and is a fun and inexpensive way to keep the kids busy and happy so it’s great if you need activities for toddlers but it’s still good fun for older kids too. Hunting for the flowers in the dough gives kids a different kind of way to play with playdough, of course you could get the normal cutters and so on out, but we enjoyed hunting for the hidden gems inside it and umm… making cups of floral playdough tea.

Three Ingredient Wildflower Goop

Updated on 20th November 2018 by Kate Williams | 4 Comments

You know those days, the ones where you can’t face playing Batman / play doh / Peppa any more? You really just can’t do it? Well yesterday was one of those days and I was in desperate need of some new activities for toddlers. I rummaged through my craft supplies, trying to think of something that wouldn’t end with us covered in paint and…nothing. So something new was called for. Thankfully while I was making an emergency cup of tea I fell upon one of the ingredients for goop, a quick expedition into garden and we have wild flower goop, the pretty version of messy play. And I worked out how to not get messy either, yes really, read on my friend….

Flower Garden Sticky Wall

Updated on 20th November 2018 by Kate Williams | 3 Comments

My daughter had so much fun today with this flower garden sticky wall that I had to get the laptop out and type it up as soon as she’d fallen asleep. My kids love sensory play ideas and I do too, it’s so nice to work out some activities for toddlers that have no mess at all, bliss! This activity is great for toddlers and younger kids as there’s loads of learning in it for them, but older kids will enjoy the chance to make something pretty with a different kind of canvas.
