We love camping but this year it’s unlikely to happen for us and we’ve had to cancel a few trips. While we can’t go away I want to try and ensure that our kids still have as much fun as possible so we’ve come up with some easy camping at home ideas that we can do this this summer. No matter what the weather is we can camp indoors or outdoors and with some easy camping crafts and activities for kids I’m hoping that we’ll have just as much fun as we would if we went away, maybe even more!…
Virtual playdates are a great idea for kids who can’t see each other but want to still stay in touch, in fact as I write this both my kids are currently sat playing with friends online! Whether your kids are unable to see other children face to face due to school closures or because they live far apart it’s a great way to stay in touch. Not being able to have normal hands on play though can be a bit tricky at first so these virtual playdate ideas for Zoom are a great way to start your kids off having fun together online.
I think it’s fair to say that most of us would like our kids to spend more time outdoors but sometimes it can be hard to think of ideas other than telling them to just go out and play! Making (and playing with!) frozen flowers is probably one of our most popular sensory play ideas ever and it’s easy to see why – they just look so pretty! I’m a great believer that if you want kids to do something then you have to make it interesting and inviting for them and these frozen flowers are so pretty that I’m always quite tempted to have a play with them myself. Actually I enjoy getting this activity prepped in advance too which isn’t something that I’ll say about everything! While it does involve advance preparation it really only takes a few minutes as you’ll be able to see in the video I’ve made and it can keep your kids busy for ages. What’s more it’s something that my kids have returned to year after year, my daughter was a toddler the first time we made this but fast forward to now a few years later and it’s still an activity that both kids enjoy….
