I have a little confession to make. Don’t tell anyone? Promise? Ok, I am a bit addicted to washi tape. It’s so pretty and it’s perfect for making crafts for toddlers too. To be honest though (and oh, this pains me to type it) I probably don’t get to use it as much as I should. All well and good but if I don’t use my existing stash of washi tape how can I justify buying anymore?! You see my problem, right? I knew you would. Thankfully (and I use that term loosely) help has come in the form of my kids who appear to have inherited my great love of the washi. I’m not sure if I should be pleased or not?! Either way my toddler was very keen to make this washi tape fall leaves craft!

Day of the Dead Crafts for Kids

Do you celebrate the Day of the Dead? I must admit that we haven’t really previously, all those skulls? To be honest I thought it was a bit morbid, especially for the kids. But last year my son got interested in it, really interested. I guess the truth is that kids are naturaly interested in the concept of death and sadly it’s one of the things we find hardest to explain! The Day of the Dead isn’t designed to be morbid, it’s a festival that remembers and celebrates family and friends that we have lost and the more I think about it I think that’s actually a good thing to promote to our children. These Day of the Dead crafts for kids are a great way to celebrate the festival with your children, and if your kids suffer from post-Halloween come down (mine do!) then it’s a great way to carry on some activities and learning with them that they’ll enjoy.

Super Cute Pumpkin Crafts

Do you love Halloween? I do, but to be honest I’m not keen on the super scary stuff, apart from anything else, with two small people in tow I don’t want to deal with any nightmares! I do like the excuse for dressing up and having fun though and I see no reason why Halloween can’t be a fun and friendly celebration too! These cute pumpkin crafts should all help make your Halloween a bit sweeter, and if you’re looking for something even more child friendly or suitable for Thanksgiving or Harvest Festival celebrations there are a few with ‘scary’ faces where you could always leave the faces off? So I told myself I wsn’t going to blog any Halloween crafts yet but when I told my son about my idea for this cute ghost footprint keepsake he wanted to make it right that very minute, so I figured hey, if it’s not too early for him it’s not too early for here either? I have to admit that I rather love Halloween crafts, as I kid I never celebrated Halloween but now I have kids of my own? Love it. Can I officially do my Autumn dance yet? I’m no fan of the colder weather but I love the excuse for big cardigans, wrapping up warm and watching the leaves change colour. One of our favourite things to do as a family in autumn is to go to a local fruit farm and pick apples.
