We are still on the daily countdown to Halloween round ours so yesterday I thought I’d try out something new with the kids and give some resist art a go! These fingerprint Halloween pictures turned out a lot spookier than I originally expected but both my four and two year old adored making them, plus the technique we came up with for creating the pictures helps improve muscle strength in fingers making it great for kids who are learning to write. Also, that bit gave me an excuse for skipping homework last night, sorry teachers, we had some Halloween resist art to make and it couldn’t possibly wait!

Peppa Pig Crafts and Activities
Do your kids love Peppa Pig? My daughter is absolutely obsessed! Whenever we go out if we see another child with something Peppa related we have to go up and take a good look, still I guess it’s a new icebreaker! When I heard that tickets for Peppa Pig Live were about to go on sale I asked if we would be able to review it and I’m very thankful that they said yes, I know my kids will have a great time. What I love even more is that Peppa Pig’s Surprise is on tour, meaning that we can be at the theatre in less than ten minutes rather than having to brave traveling for hours with two over excited small people – phew! So today I’m sharing some fun Peppa Pig crafts and activities that your kids might enjoy and of course sharing details of Peppa Pig Live in case you’d like to see it too!
Recycled CD Spider Craft for Kids
Are you excited about Halloween yet? My son has been asking me everyday how much longer he has to wait! As I can’t move the big day forward at all I thought we’d try out this recycled CD spider craft.
As we love sharing crafts for toddlers these were made by my two year old as well as my four year old, I think they’re a pretty cute halloween craft for kids but my son informs me they’re super spooky!
25 Fun Activities for One Year Olds
This weekend was a busy weekend in the Crafts on Sea household as it marked my daughters second birthday! I’m not sure quite how she’s two already since I’m sure I only gave birth to her a few weeks back (that’s sleep deprivation for you) but apparently it’s true. One is a lovely age, learning and discovering and hopefully without too many meltdowns! As my son spent more time at playgroup and then school I had a lot of time on my own with this little one so I was always on the lookout for activities for one year olds that would keep us both entertained. Today I’m sharing some of my favourite ideas that I hope you’ll enjoy too.

Toddler Pom Pom Pick Up
Last week my smallest one was ill which wasn’t loads of fun. After the inital bit of being ill though there’s always that bit in day two or three when they are too ill to go out, not quite well enough to run around in the garden but still in need of doing something. We love sharing activities for toddlers and I did this simple activity for her because it was easy to set up and put away so she could go back and forward to it when she felt like it. It’s something that’s great for fine motor skills too and I was pretty suprised by what she was actually able to achieve.
