After spotting these gorgeous feathers a couple of weeks back in my local fabric shop I knew I had to have them! I’m a little bit obsessed with making garlands (so much quicker and more fun than proper bunting I think) so a feather garland seemed like the perfect thing for me to make!
Crafts for grown ups
Valentines Bunting
The other day I was mentally berating myself a bit for not having made anything yet for Valentines day and I suddenly remembered, I have bunting! Go me! In fairness I made this a couple of years back, just before I started this blog and a very small, slightly dodgy picture of it made it’s way into one of my first ever posts about how to make super quick felt bunting, but I figure as that was nearly two years ago and basically only me and my mum saw the post, it might be ok to look at it again?! After all, it is nearly Valentines Day, who doesn’t want some quick Valentines bunting?!
Cloud cushion tutorial
Since I learnt how to make cushions myself I’ve been loathe to buy any in the shops (and if you don’t know how to make cushion covers, check out my tutorial here, it’s dead easy.) The other day I came across a cloud shaped cushion and I wondered if I could make one myself. A bit of faffing, a ponder over a glass of wine and ta-da! It was done, so I thought I would share this cloud cushion tutorial so you can make one too!
How To Display Childrens Christmas Decorations
Like most children his age, The Toddler has been regularly coming home from pre-school with a selection of Christmas pictures and decorations over the last couple of weeks. Which is great and I love that he’s being creative, but I don’t always know what to do with his handmade goodies? So this week I’ve come up with two super easy ways of displaying children’s Christmas decorations and I was so pleased with them I thought I would share them!

Easy Christmas Wreath Tutorial
So, last week I saw my friend Louise and I was discussing the Christmas wreaths we made together and how mine had started getting pinned again on Pinterest.
“I don’t remember making those” she said.
“But we were round your house!” I said. “You liberated all the foliage!” The memory comes drifting back. And this dear reader, is the issue of when you do crafts after a couple of glasses of red wine. Still, at least we had the pictures to jog our memories!
Anyway, this got me thinking of how I could make a really quick wreath this year and this is the result! This easy Christmas wreath tutorial should have you with the finished wreath in around ten minutes and as it doesn’t require much to make it it’s super thrifty too, always handy at this time of year!
Step One
Cut your foliage. I originally thought this was rosemary until my urban foraging trip earlier today. It’s not, but it’s still nice! Cut a few long stems of whatever plant you can find that looks suitably festive….
