I’ve really loved all the Valentines crafts we’ve shared recently and today’s is no different with this easy and cute Valentines heart tree craft. It’s made from materials that we already had at home so I’m hoping that it will be one that’s easy for you to prepare too – I’ll also be sharing a couple of ideas for changes you could make if you don’t have the materials I’ve used. It’s a sister craft (is that a thing?!) to our paper plate fall tree and winter tree crafts and I’ve also got lots more ideas for Valentines crafts and Valentines tree crafts to share with you.

Equipment
- Kids Glue
- Scissors
Materials
- 1 Paper Plate
- Coloured Tissue Paper
- Brown Card
Instructions
- Cut heart shapes out of your coloured tissue paper. Older children will be able to do this themselves while you are likely to need to do this for younger children.
- Cover the paper plate in glue, I've used PVA glue for this but a glue stick would probably work as well and has the benefit of drying quicker.
- Stick your coloured heart shapes onto your paper plate.
- Cut a tree trunk shape from brown card and stick this on at the base of the tree.
Notes
Alternative Materials
If you don’t have brown card around then you could use brown packaging paper or even the inside of a cerial packet, totally the kind of crafting that I used to do as a kid!
If you don’t have coloured tissue paper you could use normal coloured paper, although this obviously wouldn’t have the slightly see through quality of tissue paper it would still be fine. Another alternative could be to cut out heart shapes from old newspapers or magazines – go raid the recycling box!
