We’ve been sharing a lot of weather crafts and activities recently but I have to admit that this free rainbow playdough mat is one of my favourites, it’s just so cute and cheerful! Our Roll Rainbow playdough game is perfect for a simple spring activity, for St Patrick’s Day and of course for teaching colours and number recognition. And it’s totally free for you to print off as many copies as you’d like, what’s not to love!

Roll A Rainbow Playdough Mat Game
Today’s printable game is free for you to download but do check the terms and conditions below where you’ll also find details about more of our free printables, our favourite rainbow crafts and some brilliant looking rainbow themed books for kids. You can play this game with several players if you are in a group setting (or have couple of kids at home) but you could also play it with both you and your child with both of you having your own mat.
With it’s bright colours this playdough game is visually appealing and playdough is a great tactile sensory material that’s great for strengthening young hands. There’s a great article on Parenting Chaos about the benefits of playdough in early childhood if it’s something you’re interested in learning more about.
Rainbow Playdough
Of course you can buy playdoh* in a massive range of colours, it’s something that I’ve always kept on hand at home as it’s such a great creative activity for kids and is brilliant at calming them down too. You can of course make your own rainbow playdough, just follow a normal playdough recipe like our one for lavender playdough but instead of adding lavender add a few drops of food colouring.
