What You'll Find on This Page
Printable Snowman Craft
We’ve been sharing a lot of paper craft recently where you can build your own characters and I love this new design.
We also have a huge build a snowman printable with twelve pages of things that you can cut and paste but I also really like this one page design because it’s something simple that you can just print off for your kids. Also sometimes I know my kids don’t like too many options!
With this free snowman template you’ll find an outline for the snowman’s body as well as buttons, arms, a scarf and your snowman’s hat.
There’s also a choice of noses so you can go for a traditional carrot nose, a lump of coal or even go like The Snowman by Raymond Briggs and give your snowman a satsuma for a nose, just color the round nose orange instead of black!
One of the things I love about snowmen crafts is that they’re good for all of the winter season.
So while they’re ideal as a Christmas activity once you’ve put your Christmas tree away and Santa has made his way back to the North Pole there’s still plenty of time for making these fun crafts.
Snowman Craft Supplies
- PDF printed onto white paper or cardstock
- Coloring materials – markers, coloring pencils or crayons
- Scissors
- Glue
How To Make Your Snowman
Start by printing out the template onto white cardstock or paper. Normal printer paper is absolutely fine for this activity and is what I’ve used but if you want something that’s a bit more durable then opt for cardstock instead.
Color in all the parts of your snowman that aren’t made of snow. Obviously as these are white they won’t need coloring in!
You only need to color in one nose so choose the carrot or make a piece or coal or satsuma for your snowman.
Grab your scissors and cut out the separate parts of your snowman’s body as well as the accessories.
Next it’s time to build your snowman’s body. Grab a glue stick or some school glue (PVA glue) and stick your snowman’s head onto their body.
Next glue on their scarf, hat and arms.
Finally glue on your snowman’s nose, buttons onto their body and if you want glue the holly onto their hat to complete your craft.
More Snowman Crafts
Paper plate crafts are always popular as they’re a material that people often have available at home or in a classroom and if you don’t then they’re pretty cheap to pick up. No one likes buying expensive craft supplies if they can avoid it!
This snowman paper plate craft is a great way to practice scissor skills and it can be hung up as a decoration or played with afterwards.
I love this pom pom snowman craft because it’s perfect for all ages to make – toddlers and preschoolers can totally do the printing as long as an adult does the cutting parts for them.
Because there’s no way of knowing exactly where a snowflake will fall, it also means that any snow that’s not quite forming the snowman’s body is absolutely one that’s falling from the sky.
We have absolutely tons of free templates for kids crafts on this site and with each one you’ll find some fun ideas for ways that you can use them.
This snowman template is used for our resist art snowman craft which we love.
You’ll find the video tutorial for this craft on this page but you can click through to read the full step by step instructions too.
