Build A Snowman Printable
My kids love building snowmen but where we live in the UK hardly ever gets any snow, by all accounts it’s not quite the same but doing some fun snowman activities does help to get us through the winter!
I love this cute snowman printable and I love that kids can use the different parts to make it exactly how they want it. Of course there’s loads of snowman body parts and accessories but kids can also color each part how they want it too. You want a rainbow colored scarf? Perfect!
Of course because this is a cut and paste craft it’s also a great way for kids to practice their scissor skills too.
Here’s what you’ll find in the download:
- Five different snowman bodies – made with two snowballs, three snowballs, three snowballs with some snow, a pillar snowman and circles that you can cut and paste as many of as you like to make your own snowman shape.
- Two pages of snowman hats.
- A page of scarves and ties.
- Arms, belts, noses, mouths, eyes and buttons.
- A page of accessories with all the cool things snowmen are wearing this season including sunglasses, a broom and a coffee mug.
- Snowflakes and snow.
If you like the idea of this craft but want something a bit smaller then why not check out our printable snowman craft which kids can cut and paste but only has one page to print.
Snowman Books For Kids
With the winter weather often being less than perfect for spending long period of time outside I like to make the most of it and grab some books and stories to share with my kids, after all there are few things more joyful than snuggling up on the sofa with your children, a book and a hot chocolate.
Why not check out some of these books during the long winter months, perfect for sharing while you make this craft.

Cut and Paste Snowman Craft
This paper snowman craft is so easy to make but there’s lots of different combinations so that you can make a design that’s unique to you.
First start by printing out the PDF onto white printer paper or cardstock.
Regular printer paper is obviously the easiest and cheapest choice but if you’re going to want your snowman to be a little bit more durable, for example if it will be up in December as a Christmas decoration, then opt for white cardstock instead.
Choose your favorite snowman shape and cut this out. If your’re making this craft at home with your child then you might want to just print out the snowman outline that they like the most but if you are doing this activity with a group in a preschool or classroom then it’s always good to have a few of the shapes out for kids to choose from.
You can either just have your snowman as the cut out shape or if you’d like to use the snowflakes as part of your craft you can stick your snowman onto blue paper to give it a background.
Next up is choosing how you’d like to make your snowman’s face. Color and cut out eyes, a nose and a mouth before gluing your snowman pieces on.
Personally I’m a bit of a traditionalist with this and love a carrot nose but I love our other options and you can always cut out a few options to see what suits your snowman best.
Now it’s time for your snowman’s arms and accessories. Again choose which you would like, color them in, cut them out and glue them onto your craft.
Finally if you’ve glued your snowman onto some blue paper and you’d like to make a little winter wonderland style scene then cut out some snow and snowflakes and add these to your picture.
Ways To Adapt This Craft
Drawing – instead of cutting and pasting on all the additional parts you could grab some pencils or markers and draw on parts like the snowman’s face instead.
Add Materials – Instead of using all of our parts to cut and paste on why not see if there’s anything you have at home or school that you could replace them with such as using twigs for your snowman’s arms or gluing on real buttons.
