Printable Santa’s Workshop Craft
We’re always trying to think of fun activities that you can do with your child at home or in a classroom and this printable Christmas craft is perfect for the holiday season when the colder weather makes it that bit less appealing to go outside and you just want to stay in the warm doing something creative.
This craft isn’t one that you’ll have finished in a couple of minutes but that makes it a great project to do with your kids and I hope that you’re really going to love the finished product.
Once you’ve downloaded and printed the PDF file it’s ready to be made and you just need to cut, color and glue to make your own Christmas grotto.
Once it’s finished you can look in through the door and see what Santa and his elves are up to.
You’ll find all the instructions for this craft below but they are also on the first page of the craft template to help you when you are away from your computer and you’ll also find help on each page of the printable showing you where you need to cut, fold or glue.

Santa’s Grotto Craft
To make Santa’s grotto start by printing the PDF onto white cardstock.
While you can use normal printer paper if that’s all you have available using cardstock is going to make this craft a lot more sturdy, something that you’ll need if you’re going to be picking it up and taking a look at it.
Start by grabbing your coloring pencils or markers and coloring in all the parts for the grotto. On the outside of the workshop you’ll find a snowman, Christmas tree and reindeer while inside you’ll find an elf, fireplace and of course Santa himself.
Grab your scissors and cut out the front and side panels of the workshop. Cut around the edge of the door as shown on the diagram so that it can be opened and fold the edges and tabs as shown.
Cut out the back panels and glue them back to back so that Santa is on one side and his sleigh is on the other and fold the tabs as indicated.
Glue the back panel tabs to the side panels so that the log rolls are visible on the outside of the house.
Glue or tape the bottom tabs to the underside of the floor panel so that they are visible on the outside of the house.
Glue the roof support strips into place then cut out the roof and chimney and fold as indicated. Make sure you also fold down the snow on the roof.
Glue the roof together then assemble the chimney and attach that to the roof then finally to complete your craft glue the roof onto the support strips at the top of the house.
