What You'll Find on This Page
Christmas Countdown Calendar To Color
I’m so pleased to be able to share this printable Christmas countdown calendar for kids with you because I think it’s such a sweet design!
My kids love to ask me how many days there are until Christmas day and instead of having to check google every day this is a fun way that they can keep track of it themselves.
Each day you’ll find a picture to color with things like toys, gingerbread men, elves and of course Santa Claus himself.
All you need to do is print out the design and grab some coloring pencils or markers.
I also think it’s really nice to be able to have an activity to do each day as well as just the traditional sweet filled advent calendars.
We’ll be having chocolate calendars too but if you are looking for a sweet free one then this is a great sugar-free countdown alternative.
This would also be really nice as a Christmas activity for classrooms, kids can color in the picture for each day as a nice quiet time activity to start the day or they can design a new advent calendar to give to a friend in their class.
Make Your Own Advent Calendar
If you want to make your own advent calendar just grab the fourth page from the PDF file which has a blank template ready for you to use.
This is a fun way for older children to create their own designs. Use the blank PDF pages to draw a picture for each day that someone else can color in.
It would be fun to design personalised advent calendars for the whole family where you could add things that each individual is interested in.
If you need any prompts then presents, Santa hats, candles, an ornament or a Christmas tree are all great options.
Knowing my own kids I expect that these versions of advent coloring pages are likely to include Christmas themed Pokemons as much as they are Santa!
Supplies Needed:
- Your printed countdown calendar or blank template
- Markers or colored pencils
Optional – a pencil if you are drawing your own designs
I would recommend printing your Christmas countdown calendar onto cardstock rather than printer paper as this will help to make it a bit more sturdy, after all you want to make sure that it will last for the full 24 days.
How To Use a Countdown Advent Calendar
Each day use markers or coloring pencils to color in the picture for that day, starting on December 1st when there are 24 days until Christmas and finishing with your final picture on Christmas Eve with the final day.
What Does This PDF Include?
The PDF file for these templates has four different designs for you to download.
You will get all the designs but you can just print out the number of pages that you want and of course you can print as many copies as you like too which makes it ideal for classroom use or if you have more than one child.
- A Christmas coloring countdown where your child can color in each day’s picture
- A Christmas drawing countdown where they can draw a picture each day, the calendar numbers are drawn on each day for this
- A blank Christmas coloring countdown. Your child can draw a picture for each of the numbered days of advent and then give it as a gift to a sibling or friend to color in
- A blank advent calendar template where your child can create their own advent calendar deciding what number should go where and what to draw in each space.
