This fun activity is super quick to prepare and only needs really basic supplies that you probably already own, making it really low cost too.
What You'll Find on This Page
Fire Truck Craft
Our cut and paste crafts have been really popular with parents and educators to the extent that we were asked if we could share some with a community helpers theme.
As well as this cut and paste fire truck we’ve also now shared printable police car and ambulance crafts, perfect for making together.
This download comes with two different designs, the first in the PDF file is a generic fire truck (or fire engine) while the second design has been adapted slightly to make the logo look more like one that you might see in the USA.
Something that I really love about this design is the tool storage area which is optional for you to add depending on your child’s interests and abilities but which I think is really fun!
You’ll find it on the second page of each design and it has a ‘lift the flap’ section where you can add different tools to your fire truck including a fire extinguisher, cutters, a hat and a traffic cone.
Craft Supplies Needed
- Fire truck PDF
- White paper or cardstock
- Coloring pencils, colored markers or crayons
- Scissors
- Glue
How To Make Your Fire Truck
Start by choosing which design you want to make and then printing it onto white paper or cardstock.
Color in all of the parts of the fire truck, don’t forget you’ll only need to color and cut out the parts for the tool storage if you’re choosing to add that as well.
Using your scissors cut out all of the items and the parts of the vehicle.
We’ll start by assembling the fire truck itself so add a little bit of glue onto the edges and stick the cab of the truck onto one side of the pump panel and the truck body onto the other.
Glue the aerial ladder and the siren onto the roof and stick the wheels onto the bottom of the truck.
Now it’s time to add all the extra parts to the main body of the truck with the windows, controls, lights, air vent, logo, hose and the other ladder.
You can either leave the storage cupboards as they are, draw in some tools yourself or add the ones you’ll find at the bottom of the second sheet. Don’t forget that you can add our ‘lift the flap’ doors too if you like.
