It’s super low-prep and only requires the most basic craft supplies so it’s a great option if you need a fun themed activity for kids in a hurry.

Cut and Paste Seahorse Craft

Our cut and paste crafts have been super popular with parents and teachers so I’m really pleased to be able to share with you our latest addition – this sweet cut and paste seahorse.

Seahorse crafts are perfect for the summer when a lot of us are thinking about trips to the beach and the creatures that live in the ocean but they’re a great choice all year round as part of learning about the letter s, animals or linked to the book Mister Seahorse.

You can make this craft at home or it’s a great choice for making in classrooms as you can print as many copies as you like so each student can make their own seahorse. If you’re thinking of doing an under the sea themed bulletin board in your room then I think a shoal or herd of seahorses would be a great addition!

Craft Supplies Needed

• Cut and paste seahorse PDF
• White paper
• Scissors
• Glue
• Colored markers, coloring pencils or crayons

Build A Seahorse Craft

Our cut out seahorse is super easy to make as as being super cute! To start with just print out the PDF file, you can use normal printer paper but if your child is likely to want to play with their finished seahorse then you might want to opt for white cardstock instead.

Next up is coloring so grab your coloring pencils colored markers or crayons. Seahorses come in lots of different colors including yellow, pink, gray, orange and red so you can pick your favorite colors for this craft.

Next it’s time to cut out all the separate pieces, you’ll find a dotted line around each part to help guide you.

To build your seahorse, glue the keel onto the main body of your seahorse on the grayed out area, stick the coronet onto the back of their head and glue the dorsal fin onto your seahorse’s back.

Glue their eye and snout onto their face and then you can stick their markings onto their body to create your own design.
