Build A Jellyfish Craft
Make the cutest jellyfish around with this easy kids craft that’s quick to prep, low cost and low mess!
Over the years I’ve shared quite a few jellyfish crafts including our paper plate jellyfish and our jellyfish template but I have to admit that I adore this new printable that’s perfect for helping your kid with their scissor skills.

Craft Supplies Needed
- Build a jellyfish PDF
- White paper or cardstock
- Scissors
- Glue – school glue (PVA glue) or a glue stick
- Coloring pencils, colored markers or crayons
Cut and Paste Jellyfish
Before we can start making your jellyfish craft you’ll need to print out the PDF file. You can use normal white printer paper for this or if you want it to be a little more sturdy (which can definitely help with the tentacles) then print it onto cardstock instead.

Grab your coloring pencils, markers or crayons and get coloring in. There are loads of different colors of jellyfish in nature with blue, purple, yellow, pink and even clear jellyfish so it’s a great excuse to use your favorite bright colors.

Next grab your scissors and cut out each part of the craft, you’ll find a dotted line around each part to help guide you.

To build your jellyfish glue the tentacles onto the main body of your jellyfish. I think it looks best if you glue them onto the back but that’s totally up to you.

To finish your jellyfish glue on it’s eyes and the spots.
If you’d like to adapt this craft you could use pieces of string, ribbon or strips of colored paper instead of the tentacles that we’ve used.

More Cut and Paste Sea Animals
I’ve shared loads of cut and paste crafts for kids and you can find lots there with an ocean theme. These a few of my favorites that I think would be a great choice for summer, under the sea topics, learning about the environment or just because you kid loves marine life.
Our build a turtle craft is always popular and this free printable template would be a great addition if you’re thinking of making a display at home or on a bulletin board in your classroom.

Our build a shark craft is one of our newest resources and would be good for shark week activities too.

Finally I love this cut and paste coral reef craft featuring fish, a seahorse and of course lots of coral and seaweed.
