What You'll Find on This Page
Build A Monster Printable Craft
With twenty two pages to download you can pick and choose what you want to print depending on what kind of monster your child wants to make or if you are doing this activity with a group such as in a classroom or preschool.
The first page is a coversheet showing what is available in the rest of the twenty two pages. You don’t need to print this sheet but it can be helpful if you’d like to show your child what their options are.
You’ll then find twelves different monster bodies to choose from. You can print these onto white or colored paper depending on if you want to color them in yourself or not.
After this you’ll find ten pages of pick and mix monster body parts divided into groups to help you navigate them easier:
- Eyes
- Mouths
- Noses
- Markings
- Horns and ears
- Legs and feet
- Arms and hands
- Claws and tentacles
- Wings
- Tails
- Hair and spikes
I really wasn’t kidding when I said that this was a big craft pack and I don’t think there’s anything else we could have included even if we tried, what more could a monster possibly need?
The huge number of options means that you’ll have unique monsters that your kids can design however they like. Perfect for getting your kids to engage with all that Halloween excitement and making sure that you get the most out of the period rather than just trick or treating.
The monsters are all great for displaying as decorations or you can incorporate them into a Halloween themed story-time or playtime.

How To Create Your Own Monster
Building your own monster is super simple with this printable kit. To get started choose the monster’s body that you want and print that out along with the pages of body parts.
Of course if you are doing this activity with a group such as in a classroom or preschool then you’ll want to print out more of the monster’s main body.
This is also good if you have more than one kid at home as they can have their own, different body outlines and there’s enough features that they don’t have to fight / patiently wait for each sheet.
You can either print out the bodies onto white or colored paper, if you go for white then now is the time to color yours in with colored pencils, markers or crayons.
Printing your monsters onto thick paper or cardstock will make them a bit more durable but normal printer paper is also fine and is what I’ve used.
Next choose the features that you want such as eyes, noses or wings and cut them out, you can also color these in if you want.
Glue them onto your monster and your done, of course as there’s lots of different body shapes you can make as many paper monsters as you like!
Variation Ideas
If you want to build your own monster but don’t fancy using the body parts we’ve used why not use this as an excuse to look through your craft supplies or recycling bin for materials that you could use?
All you need is the monster’s body outline and you could use pipe cleaners, milk carton lids, pom poms, googly eyes or craft sticks to decorate.
More Halloween Crafts for Kids
I love sharing free printables for kids crafts because being a mom myself I know how many times my kids have looked on Pinterest for something to make and I’ve had that sense of dread that I’ll never find the materials, it’s going to cost me a fortune and it’s never in a million years going to look like the picture they’ve found.
Our printables and the crafts with them are designed to be easy and achievable, something you can make last minute without buying 100 new things. I hope you find them helpful too!
This cut and paste pumpkin craft is a great way to practice cutting skills while you design your own Jack O’Lantern.
I love this 3D haunted house template, it comes in a black and white version or one that’s already colored in and you can even pop an LED tealight in it to light it up at Halloween.
Finally we have loads of simple templates that you can use for coloring or trying out some craft ideas with. This ghost template is perfect for spooky season and it’s one that we’ve used to create lots of different activities with too.
