Make a Monster Template
With ghosts, witches, pumpkins and bats around there’s loads to inspire your creativity over the Halloween period but I thing that monsters have to be one of my favorite things to make , especially for younger kids.
Why? Well because there’s no set way to make a monster so wherever your imagination leads you it’s perfect.
Your monster has one eye? Great. Three eyes are great too. If your monster is pink or yellow or has bat wings or sticky out eyes or huge eyebrows it doesn’t matter. All monsters looks perfectly monstrous in their own way.
You can make cute monsters or scary ones, the choice is yours!
All of the designs in this monster printable activity are already colored in so you don’t need to worry about finding those markers, just glue and scissors.
You can also print as many copies as you like so it’s great for use in a classroom as well as at home or at a Halloween party.
This PDF file is free to download and is part of a set of three different monster printables that we have available.
As well as this you can also find our free monster template that has two different designs in black and white. A basic monster outline that you can decorate and one with the monster’s features filled in that’s perfect for using as a coloring sheet.
We’re also sharing a huge build a monster pack with ten pages of pick and mix monster features that kids can color, cut and paste.
Design Your Own Monster
To create your own monster all you need to do is print out the craft templates onto white paper or cardstock.
There are five pages of monster outlines all of which are colored in and two pages of colorful monster features including eyes, teeth, wings, legs, horns and scales.
To design your own monster just print out the monster’s body that you would like and then cut and paste on your favorite features. Don’t forget to give your monster a name at the top of the page!
You could also use the monster’s body’s to design your own monster just with markers or crayons, drawing on your own design. Or you could even look for some collage materials like craft sticks, feathers or googly eyes to stick on.
Finally you could laminate the pages for an activity that could be reused as you design your monster again and again or just use the laminated monster body as a playdough mat to make your own play-doh eyes, noses and so on.
