Build A Leprechaun Template
St Patricks Day can be a really fun time of year, especially with parades taking place, so it’s a great excuse to take some time out to do something creative and fun with your child too.
I love doing paper crafts with kids because apart from any other reason they’re just really cheap!
I’m sure you know as well as I do how quickly the cost of kids activities can add up so it’s nice to do something where you already have a lot of the things you need, such as paper and markers and the other items such as glue aren’t that expensive to get hold of either.
If you’d like to try out some leprechaun crafts but want something a little easier, perhaps for kindergarten or preschool, then why not check out our free leprechaun craft template. It’s great for using as leprechaun coloring pages or you can design your own leprechaun’s face for it or our movable paper leprechaun craft also features this cute design too!
Craft Supplies
- Build a Leprechaun PDF
- White paper or cardstock
- Scissors
- Glue – craft glue, glue stick or school glue / PVA
- Coloring materials – crayons, coloring pencils or colored markers
Cut and Paste Leprechaun
Start by printing the PDF onto paper or cardstock. Cardstock is a bit more durable but paper is easier to cut and a bit cheaper so go with the option that works for you.
Color in the separate parts of the leprechaun and his accessories. Remember that if you would like your leprechaun to be holding something you will need to choose which items from a shamrock, gold coins or the Irish flag – you don’t need to color anything that you won’t be using.
Following the dotted lines on the printable cut out the different parts.
Glue the hat onto your leprechaun’s head and stick the buckle of the hat onto this. You can also add the small shamrock decoration onto the hat if you wish.
Glue the bowtie onto the leprechaun’s body so that it will be under his beard and then glue on his head as shown on the printable.
Stick his shorts to the back of his body before gluing the legs onto the back of the shorts.
Finally glue any of the leprechaun’s accessories that you want to use onto his hands and your craft is finished.
