Birds Nest Craft Ideas
Coloring
Grab your markers, crayons and coloring pencils for an activity that’s super easy to set up and perfect for keeping kids busy. This printable makes an ideal birds nest coloring page so if you just fancy using it for that then go for it!
Shredded paper
Shredded paper is available in lots of craft stores or if you have a paper shredder at home or in your office you could even make the most of crafting with paper that’s been through that!
Color in your eggs and then cover the nest area with glue, all you need to do now is grab your shredded paper and glue it down.
Use natural materials
Why not take advantage of natural materials found in your backyard or on a walk to decorate your bird’s nest? this would be a good excuse as well to discuss what materials birds use when building a nest themselves.
Sticks and twigs can be a bit tricky to glue down so you might want to opt for double sided tape for this, it does stick things to the first place they touch but you don’t have to worry about waiting ages for glue to dry or bits of moss and leaves falling off your artwork.
Torn paper
Similar to using shredded paper but torn paper is easier to glue and you have the benefits of tearing the paper yourself. Go for brown packaging paper if you want something natural or if your kids fancy something more colorful then go with whatever colored paper you can find at home.
Sponge painting
Cut a sponge into a thin rectangle shape and then dab it in brown paint before printing it onto the nest.
