Free Angel Template (Printable PDF)

This free angel template is perfect for Christmas and nativity crafts or just using as an angel coloring page – always a nice idea for a quiet time activity!

The free download contains two angel designs so that you can choose the one that’s most appropriate for your activity and of course as normal we’ve got plenty of ideas for ways that you can use this template.

Free Angel Template

Christmas is a super busy time of year and it’s also a super expensive one too which is why we’ve shared so many free Christmas printables for kids.

We love easy and inexpensive crafts so all the angel craft ideas that I’ve shared today are ones that you can make using materials you probably already have at home rather than having to buy lots of new expensive craft materials.

Decorating your angels with any left over craft supplies you have is one of our easiest ideas and is a great way to use up anything you have lurking at the back of your supply cupboard.

To help save your time and money we’ve got two printable designs for this angel template that you can download so that you can spend more time making memories with your child and having fun together. It’s perfect for paper crafts, using as an angel stencil or as an angel coloring page.

As well as Christmas itself this template would also be perfect for Sunday school use or in a classroom as you can print out as many copies as you like and the simple design makes them perfect for easy Christmas crafts.

As usual you’ll find lots of fun ideas below for ways that you can use your free template.

There are two designs of these free printable angel templates one with wings and one without.

This means that you can decorate your angel or if you would like to you can create some wings for your angel instead.

Angel Craft Ideas

Coloring

These designs can totally be used as angel coloring pages and they’re a great activity for quiet time, just grab markers or crayons and you’re ready to go.

As the face area of the angel’s has been left blank too you can also design your angel’s face.

Decorate

This free printable template is perfect for kids to decorate, leave them on the paper or cut the shapes out and they’d be great for a classroom party or an activity that kids can do easily at a table.

All you need to do is add some materials for them to add to their angel, think construction paper, feathers, stickers, sequins, glitter and colored paper and then add some glue for them to decorate it however they like.

Either school glue or a glue stick would work for this. If you are doing this activity with a group make sure that everyone has their name on the back of their angel so that they have their own craft to take home.

Handprint Angel Craft

Using the template without wings to make our easy handprint angel craft. This would make a lovely keepsake too.

Doily Wings

Use doilies cut in half to make delicate angel wings. You may find this works best if you use scissors to cut your angel shape out and then stick it and the wings onto another piece of paper using a glue stick.

Christmas Ornaments

Print your angel template out onto cardstock before coloring and then add a loop of ribbon onto the back of the head to make a simple angel ornament that you can hang on your tree.

You could also attach your angel to a cardboard tube so it could be put on the top of a tree!

Bunting

Cut out coloured in paper angels and attach them to a piece of string with a piece of tape before hanging your bunting up or make some Christmas décor by coloring and cutting out and using your angels to decorate your classroom, preschool or home , why not fix some with string to hang from the ceiling!

Suncatcher

Cut out your angel outlines and place onto contact paper (sticky back plastic) cover the surrounding area with colored tissue paper or cellophane and then secure your suncatcher with another piece of contact paper.

Paint Splat

We made our paint splat angel craft without using a template but you could use this template to make sure that you have a face shape on it. Just be certain to put the paint at the start of the activity inside the area of the angel’s dress.

Tips For Teachers and Parents

As you can print as many copies of our templates as you like they’re a great option for preschool or classroom activities and teachers could print these angel templates for classroom art projects, nativity crafts, or bulletin board decorations.

If you are a parent you might use them at home for creating some quiet Christmas activities or decorating them with whatever supplies you have in your kids craft stash (we always seem to have an abundance of sequins and gems from craft packs.)

Because these angel outlines are simple, they work well for preschoolers, toddlers, and early elementary grades too.

If you are trying out an activity that uses a lot of paint or glue then I would recommend printing your angel template onto cardstock rather than printer paper.
