Acorn Template
The fall season is perfect for crafting with kids, the cooler weather makes you less likely to be spending long days by the pool (sorry about that) and with kids back in preschools and classrooms a lot of us start thinking about what activities we can do with our kids.
As this is a larger acorn template with big spaces to fill it’s ideal for younger kids to use and while I’ve shared some acorn craft ideas below I’m sure you’ll come up with some fun kids crafts too.

Acorn Craft Ideas
Coloring Yes this is obviously the most simple activity but there’s nothing wrong with that and this printable makes great acorn coloring page! You could look at how to make brown paint out of different colours if you like or just grab some crayons, markers and coloring pencils and get stuck in coloring your acorn.
Rolling acorn painting. I did this activity with my kiddos a few years ago and they really enjoyed it. My drawing was not exactly my best though so I’m happy to have this acorn stencil to use in future.
Collage. We made this super easy acorn craft using a collage and it’s a great way to use up any old craft supplies you have as well as being a good way to practice scissor skills or support fine motor skills. Why not try colored cardstock, yarn and even pieces of acorn pieces or leaves from oak trees themselves stuck onto your template with glue or double sided tape.
Make acorn faces. Turn the template upside down so that the acorn cap looks like a hat and draw on eyes, nose and a mouth to make your acorn into a little person. You could laminate the template and use playdough to form the features too.
Sponge Painting. This is such a simple activity but especially for younger kids I think it’s the perfect fall craft as the painting allows you to do lots of color mixing. Pour some red, yellow and green paints onto a plate or tray and then dip a sponge into them before using them to paint your acorn template. See if your colors stay seperate or will you start to get shades of orange and brown too!
