I’ve done a couple of crafts with acorns over the years but my drawings of the actual acorns themselves have always been a bit…less than awesome. That being the case I’m so happy to share this free acorn template with you. It’s going to make my life a lot easier and I hope it will make yours easier too!
Autumn crafting with kids is great and although we’ve done loads of autumn leaf crafts I do need a bit of a change sometimes and I know my kids do too! I shared a free oak leaf template earlier this week and this acorn printable is the perfect accompaniment to it for some easy to prepare autumn activities.
As well as the template itself I’ll also be sharing with you some ideas for how you can use it.
If you like this template but you’re not ready to print it out then make sure that you pin an image or bookmark this page so that you’re ready to use it later. Do use the download rather than the images on this page though or it won’t print properly.
I’ve shared loads of free templates for kids crafts on this site with ideas for every season s do check those out too.
Acorn Art Projects
Colouring and painting. Yes this is obviously the most simple activity but there’s nothing wrong with that! You could look at how to make brown paint out of different colours if you like.
Rolling acorn painting. I did this activity with my son a few years ago and he really enjoyed it. My drawing was not exactly my best though so I’m happy to have this template to use in future.
Collage. Look for brown and earthy colours in magazine or from scrap paper and glue them on to your template
Make acorn faces. Turn the template upside down so that the acorn cap looks like a hat and draw on eyes, nose and a mouth to make your acorn into a little person. You could laminate the template and use playdough to form the features too.
