Driftwood Christmas Tree Card

9th November 2016 by Kate Williams | 5 Comments

A couple of weeks ago my lovely friend Jen asked me if I’d like to be involved in her kid made Christmas card series and of course I said yes and then I remembered two teeny tiny issues. We didn’t have any cards or craft materials. I did panic for a bit but actually this is real life in which sometimes you kids decide that they want to make things and you have to improvise a bit, even though I have a lot of crafting stuff my house is not Hobbycraft and, like most parents, I have to make the most with what we have. This driftwood Christmas tree card came about after a walk that I shared some pictures of on Instagram, filling my pockets with some freebie craft materials.

A Month of Fun Christmas Activities For Kids: Free Printable

Updated on 16th June 2021 by Kate Williams | 1 Comment

I know it’s only November but like most parents my planning for Christmas starts way before December kicks in, if it’s not buying presents then it’s working out when we will visit family or what festive food we want to make. Of course the kids get more than a little excited too and once they see the Christmas goods go out in the shops they want to get started on Christmas stuff too!

Today I’m sharing a free printable with you for a month of fun Christmas activities for kids. You can print it off and stick it on your fridge like a little festive bucket list, get your kids to choose what they want to do each day or use it to fill an advent calendar of Christmas activities, either way it should be lots of fun!

I’ve listed all the different activities below along with some links if you need more details or a recipe and if you scroll to the bottom you can find your free printable!

Winter Tree Suncatchers

Updated on 4th November 2016 by Kate Williams | 5 Comments

Yesterday I did a super brave thing, I got the glitter out. I know that if you write about kids crafts then somehow you are expected to automatically love glitter but this mama has spent too long cleaning the stuff up to be a big fan of it! We did find a way to keep the mess under control though and I think our winter tree suncatchers worked out really well!

Spooky Forest Kids Halloween Craft

Today I thought I’d share with you one of the crafts from my book 30 Halloween Crafts for Kids. I love this little spooky forest because it uses upcycled materials which helps keep the cost down, and it’s great for helping your kids with scissor skills and fine motor skills but even better at the end of their crafting they have something that they can actually play with – and anything that keeps your kids busy, happy and helps encourage them to use their imagination has got to be a good thing, right?

I’m happy to admit that I’ve totally c+p’d the text below from my book, not just because I’m writing this while inhaling caffeine before I get the kids ready for school and nursery, but because I wanted to share with you how I’ve set it out and how easy it is for you guys to follow and do some fun kids Halloween crafts this year -hope you like it!

DIY Roald Dahl Costumes for Kids

Updated on 24th February 2022 by Kate Williams | 5 Comments

Both my kids and I are big fans of Roald Dahl and his characters are always a really popular choice for dress up whether it’s for World Book Day or for Roald Dahl Day itself. Like a lot of parents I’m not always keen to buy yet another costume for school so these DIY Roald Dahl costumes are a great idea.

What’s more, all the images of homemade costumes I’m sharing are from actual parents that have made it themselves, not something suggested in a magazine that seems impossible when you have to make it yourself!
