It’s only a couple of weeks until we’re back to school and I go into my normal routine of crazy lady yelling ‘shoes!’ every five minutes at my kids and realising that we’ve forgotten to do the homework again. I am not a morning person and I am super forgetful so school mornings are not quite the peaceful relaxed time I’d like them to be! Apparently though other people are way better at this school run business than I am and I’m more than happy to pinch a few of their ideas to calm my mornings down. I’ve hunted all around for the best school morning hacks to make your start to the day a bit calmer and these are my favourite ones that I’ve read!

Make a healthy snacks supply so if your kids decide they’re starving just as you’re about to walk out the door (this happens whenever we are super late) then you’ve got something on hand for the journey.
Make a Good Morning chart like this one from Art Bar Blog – bonus – it’s super pretty too.
If you’re making your kids a packed lunch then this hack from Raising Little Superheros is great – I like to use these lunch boxes with my kids because they love to open all the little bits up!
Get young kids used to their school morning routine with this sweet morning routine printable from Lalymom
I love this great idea from playtivities on how to get your kids into a routine, I think I’ll definatly be using it for when we brush our teeth!
Get your kids backpacks packed the night before (with the exception of lunch and drinks). If you need to take things like suncream or reading books these are always a nightmare to find first thing!

Check how long it takes you to really walk to school before you start. If you’re starting school for the first time then it’s easy to guess how long it will take but remember that kids can take a lot longer. Our old walk took five minutes, oh, unless my toddler was with us in which case it took at least fifteen minutes and me getting all stressed! Go for a practice run if you need to!
