Supplies Needed
- Bunting PDF printed onto white paper or cardstock
- Scissors
- String or ribbon
- Tape
- Optional – colouring pencils, felt tip pens or crayons
How To Make Your Union Jack Bunting
Start by printing your bunting out onto paper or cardstock. Using cardstock will make your bunting a lot more durable but if you’re planning on hanging up a lot of bunting to display then printer paper is definitely the budget friendly option.
If you are using the bunting template to colour in then now is the time to grab your colouring materials. You can go with crayons or colouring pencils but I personally tend to go with markers or felt tip pens for activities like this as they give brighter colours.
You can always take a look at the bunting which has the colours already done to make sure you get the red, white and blue in the correct places.
No matter which template you choose the next step is to cut your bunting out using scissors. You will also need to fold the top tab of each the bunting flags down.
Thread your Union Jack flag onto your ribbon or string and hold it in place by using sellotape or double sided tape to hold the tab down. I would definitely choose sticky tape over PVA glue or a glue stick for this as it holds it more securely in place.
Your Union Jack bunting is now finished and you can hang it up to display for your celebrations!
You will also find instructions for making the bunting written on the PDF pages.
