Easter Scavenger Hunt
I’m really excited to share this scavenger hunt with you as it’s just so cute and I really hope you’re going to have a lot of fun with your kids seeing how many of the items on it you can find this Easter.
My kids adore doing an egg hunt on Easter morning every year but it’s over super quickly (possibly the fastest I see them run all year) so this is a nice way of continuing the idea of looking for all things Easter related without it all being over in 30 seconds. Phew!
Because you can print as many copies as you like you could also do this activity with a group of kids or in a classroom, either with each child being given their own printable or having one printable for each group playing.
We choose to share scavenger hunt’s without clues because then you can just grab this printable and take it out with you wherever you are going.
No stress for you about having to hide a trail of clues and no worrying for me about if you have a suitable closet that I can leave the last clue in. Because for our Easter egg hunt at home the final message and eggs are always in a closet!
These style of scavenger hunts are also a really good way to encourage observation skills in your kids, you can take a look at more of our scavenger hunt ideas if you like where we have lots of themed PDF’s like this one and also some like our indoor and outdoor themes that are good all year round.
You can get this free printable scavenger hunt at the end of this post by subscribing to the free Crafts on Sea newsletter.
How Does A Scavenger Hunt Work?
Put simply, scavenger hunt is a list of items to find. You can do this in teams or individually and you can give a set amount of time to try and find all the items in or if you fancy a more chilled out activity then obviously don’t time it.
I’ve done quite a few scavenger hunts with my kids and we tend to take a more laid back approach generally with both kids having a printed list however they will often choose to work together to find things.
Do I Need To Find Everything on the Scavenger Hunt List?
For some other competitions this may be the case but for our scavenger hunt I would say absolutely not.
If you can find every item then that’s obviously great but it’s unlikely that you’ll see all of these unless you have prepared something in advance where you know all of the items are able to be found.
Just see how many you can find or if you want to do this with a group then you could have a competition to see who can find the most items.
What Do I Need For A Scavenger Hunt?
For this scavenger hunt you will need a copy of the printable itself and something to color in the pictures so make sure that you grab your crayons, markers or coloring pencils.
If you are taking this printable out on an adventure then you might also find it helpful to take a clipboard with you to lean on.
Where Can I Do My Scavenger Hunt?
You can do your scavenger hunt wherever you like. They can be a great excuse to get your kids outside so you could use them around your neighborhood or even as you walk around your local town looking in shop windows!
You could also use this printable in your school or preschool with kids seeing what item they could find on any bulletin boards or decorations that you have up.
You could even use this scavenger hunt with an Easter book, seeing how many of the items you can find in the illustrations.
Prize Ideas
Of course you don’t need to give out a prize to people for taking part in this scavenger hunt but if you do want to give a prize out then here’s a few ideas.
Candy or sweets are obviously a popular choice for treats at this time of year especially Easter eggs. You could give little chocolate eggs or if you want one big prize then go for a bigger egg.
An Easter book would also be a lovely idea, how about How To Catch The Easter Bunny or The Good Egg?
