This weekend we had a brilliant day out at a beach hut on Mersea Island. It was so chilled out, nothing to do but chill in a deck chair while the kids played with buckets and spades and hunted for crabs. We love sea crafts for kids and as we had all day to laze around I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to try out some fun beach activities for kids from the book!

Kid Made Seashell Decorations
Do your kids come home from the beach carrying loads of seashells? I know mine do and to be honest I’m often known to pop a couple in my pocket myself, I normally have no idea what to do with them but I can’t resist pretty things! I had an idea earlier this week about using them to make some kind of seashell decorations and as chance would have it we made these one day and decided to decorate my son’s room in a seaside theme the next day. Room decorations at the ready – boom!

How to make a toy teepee
Did you play with Sylvanian Families toys when you were a kid? I did and I loved them, so when we were offered the chance to review the Bear Family I jumped at the chance because, well, I’m 35 and I wanted an excuse to play with them. Go me! With my daughter being one and my son being four Sylvanian Families are a pretty new thing to them, so I thought I’d set them a little crafty challenge, also they love little suprises! These card teepees are super simple to make and would suit most other small toys too. So that you can do as little prep a possible, I’ve included a free downloadable template so if you want to know how to make a toy teepee all you have to do is print it out and get decorating!
35 Under the Sea Crafts for Kids
Living near the seaside we tend to make a lot of sea crafts for kids, I love the way the seaside inspires kids to be creative! As a blogger I also get asked a lot about what ideas I like so I thought it would be fun to share some of my favourite under the sea crafts for kids! There’s so many great ideas in here I’m sure you’ll find something that will inspire you and your kids too.

Miffy In The Garden Small World
We are all struck down with Man Flu this week, so today while my son was at Playgroup and my daughter was having a nap I thought I’d try and make a little craft to make them smile. We’ve been reading Miffy in The Garden and both my kids love to garden too (or in my youngest’s case, eat dirt). But with the weather today? No thanks. I thought this Miffy small world would give them the chance to ‘play gardening’ inside and hurray because they loved it!
