Like a lot of people I have a bit of an obsession with buying stationary and there are times when the cupboard here that is meant to be dedicated to the children’s crafting can look a bit like an overflowing stationary shop. So that I’m not just buying stuff and not using it I always try to create something with what we already have. Of course that’s not just my own (cute) stuff but the things that me and my husband have lying around from our work too – lots and lots of office supplies.

Since the round up of farm animal crafts for preschoolers that I shared the other week I’ve become a little obsessed with animal crafts as they’re so easy for kids to make and they look really cool. My kids decided that they fancied giving something new a go so we came up with this cute yogurt pot sheep craft, they’re currently in our dining room as part of our Easter decorations but they’re fun to make at any time of the year.

I love sensory play ideas for kids, actually my kids adore sensory play but I’m never going to be the mum that plonks her kids down in a bowl of baked beans in the name of messy play. Nope, never. I’ve shared a mess free autumn tree craft before and today I thought I’d update it with an Earth Day theme. It’s the perfect way for smaller kids to have some sensory fun without you having to panic about all the tidying involved.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar has to be one of the most classic kids book ever and I’ve yet to find a kid that doesn’t love it!
It’s also a book that’s really popular with parents, schools and preschools following the EYFS – I know that both my kids have ‘studied’ it at different times (does a three year old study a book? Maybe explored would be a better word?!) but it’s also one that’s fun to do some simple activities for at home too.
These The Very Hungry Caterpillar activities are all fun, cute and perfect for kids – which one is your favourite?
