Build A Witches Hat Craft
In our home as soon as you start seeing Halloween candy and decorations in the stores my kids start getting excited about dressing up and going trick or treating. To be fair, it’s a really fun time of year so I don’t blame them!
If you’d like to try and take your child’s excitement for Halloween and encourage them to try a new craft activity then our cut and paste witches hat is a great choice.
In the PDF file you’ll find two pages to download. The first is our basic one page design complete with stars, a moon and a spider to hang from the tip of the hat.
Want to go all out? Print our second page too which has extra stars and moons as well as skulls, bats and spiders webs to decorate your hat with.
Craft Supplies Needed:
- Build a witches hat craft PDF
- Coloring pencils, colored markers or crayons
- Scissors
- Glue
Cut and Paste Witches Hat Craft
Start by printing out one or both pages of the printable. Using cardstock or thicker paper will make your craft a bit more sturdy but normal white printer paper is fine and is what I’ve used for my hat.
Color in all of the items, if you are using the additional page then you only need to color in any extra decorations that you’ll be using.
Using scissors carefully cut out each item.
Glue the hat’s band on to your witch’s hat and glue the buckle onto the middle of the band.
Glue one end of the spider’s web onto the back of the top of your hat and then stick your spider onto the other end.
Stick your decorations on to your hat.
Adding the extra decorations? Make sure you glue them all on so that your witches hat is ready for your Halloween celebrations.

Halloween Witches Hat Craft
Equipment
- Scissors
- Glue
- Coloring materials Colored markers, coloring pencils or crayons
Materials
- Build a witches hat PDF
- White paper or cardstock
Instructions
- Print the PDF onto white paper or cardstock.
- Color in all the parts of the craft.
- Using scissors, cut all of the pieces out following the dotted out around each item.
- Glue the hat band and buckle onto your witches hat.
- Glue the spiders web onto the back of the top of the witches hat and then glue the spider onto the other end of the web.
- Glue the stars and moon shapes onto your hat to decorate it. If you have also colored and cut out the additional decorations then you can glue these on too.
