Craft Supplies
- Build a bat printable PDF
- White paper or cardstock and printer
- Coloring pencils, colored markers or crayons
- Glue
- Scissors
How To Make Your Build a Bat Printable Craft
Start by printing the PDF file onto white paper or cardstock. In general normal printer paper is fine for most crafts or if you’re thinking of displaying this on your wall or a bulletin board at school but if your child is likely to want to play with this and make their bat fly around then go with cardstock to make it a bit more durable.
Next color in all the parts that you’ll be using to make your bat – the wings, head, feet, ears and your bat’s body. I’ve left the belly fur blank but you can color it if you would prefer.
I’ve also chosen fairly sensible bat colors (black and gray) but what with it being Halloween I couldn’t resist adding a bit of purple.
Go with what works for you, if that’s classic black bats then perfect but if you have a kid who wants a sparkly pink bat then personally I see no problem with that.

Once it’s all colored in grab your scissors and cut all of the different parts out, following the dotted line around each item.
Next take your bat’s head and glue it’s ears onto the back of it so that they are sticking out.

Glue their belly fur onto their main body and then glue the bat’s head onto this before sticking the feet onto the bottom of the bat.

Finally glue your bat’s wings onto the back of their body so that they will stick out from either side and your bat craft is complete.

Once you’ve finished making your bat craft you could attach some string to the back of it with a bit of tape and then hang it from your ceiling.
The finished bats would look fantastic displayed in your window or if you are in a classroom you could have a cloud of paper bats displayed on your bulletin board, perfect for spooky season.
