The third design shows the horse wearing a bridle and saddle.
Horse’s Head Template:

Horse Craft and Activity Ideas
Coloring
Coloring is a great activity for younger kids and it’s one that older children often enjoy too.
There are loads of different horse outlines available in our PDF pack so all you need to do is grab your favorite picture and your coloring pencils, markers or crayons and you’re ready to get started.
Add A Mane
Our horse’s head template without a mane on it has been designed for you to add your own and it’s a great way to encourage creativity and try out some cutting practice.
You could cut strips of paper to glue onto your horses head or why not try cutting and sticking some yarn or shredded paper to add texture to your picture.
Mosaic
Mosaics are a fantastic way to help support scissor skills and fine motor skills and using up scrap paper can be a really cheap and easy way to craft with your kids too.
Simply cut colored paper into pieces and then glue it onto the horses body to color the area in.
Add a Background
While our horse templates are great for coloring why stop there? You can use these pictures a starting place for art ideas and fill in the background of the picture either by drawing, adding some stickers or trying some collage art.
If your horse is in a field you could add some strips of green paper grass to the picture or you could draw some sand for them to gallop along at a beach.
More Free Animal Templates
We’ve shared loads of free templates for kids crafts so it makes sense that you can find lots on this site with an animal theme!
These are just a few of my favorites and with each one you’ll find some simple ideas of ways that you can use them at home or in a preschool or classroom.
I love our alpaca template because it’s so cute but it would also be a great design for gluing some cotton balls on to to make a super fluffy craft.

Our chick template has two designs to choose from and would be perfect for farm topics as well as spring and Easter themes.

Finally our seahorse template is perfect for under the sea topics and is one that we’ve tried some fun process art with too.
