What You'll Find on This Page
Chicken Template
Whether you’re looking at a farm theme in your preschool or classroom or just have a kiddo that really loves chickens, this chicken template is ideal for trying out some easy craft and art projects together.
Download the PDF file and you’ll find two different printables that you can print.
The first is a basic chicken outline that’s perfect for decorating,Ā you’ll still see your chicken’s beak, comb though. If you plan on getting out the scissors, glue or construction paper then this might be the one for you.
Our second design has more details added to it with an eye and wing showing and would be a great option for coloring or if you use paints such as watercolors that you can see through.
Chicken Craft Ideas
Coloring
Coloring is always a great option as it’s easy for you to prep but it’s also something that’s normally pretty popular too.
Just print out the design you want and grab your coloring pencils, colored markers or crayons. Will you go for a yellow or brown chicken or create a new multicolored rainbow one?!
Shredded Paper
Shredded paper is a great way to add texture to a craft. You could glue it onto the chickens body or stick some down by their feet to show the yard or nesting area.
Feathers
Use PVA or school glue on your chicken before adding craft feathers to it.
Tissue Paper Squares
To decorate your chicken with tissue paper squares simple cover your chicken with glue and then stick the squares onto it.
If you’d like to make a craft with a bit more texture then try scrunching up tissue paper before you glue it down.
More Farm Printables for Kids
I’ve shared loads of free resources and printables across the years and farm animals and farms have to be one of my favorite topics. They’re normally a really popular option with kids of all ages too from kindergarten to the early years at school.
Of course if you’re thinking about chickens then it’s not unreasonable to image that you might be thinking about chicks too, especially if this is a spring activity for you.
Our chick template has two cute designs and I’ve also shared ideas and instructions for crafts you can make with it.

Another favorite of mine has to be this printable farm craft. Just print the PDF onto white paper or cardstock and then color, cut and paste to make your own farm scene.

Finally our tractor template is another great option and we have a cut and paste tractor that’s available too.
