Build An Acorn Printable

Fall is possibly my favorite time of the year and with the changing colors there’s so much in nature for kids to be inspired by.

Oak trees and acorns are instantly recognisable and I think that they’re a great option for kids too as we all know that the mighty trees grow from little acorns, all of us have the potential to grow too!

I love fall crafts and we’ve got loads of ideas that you can link this activity with as part of a fall theme.

I think its going to look great displayed too so if you’ve got a fall themed bulletin board planned then this is definitely one to grab.

If you like this design but want something more simple for your kids art projects then check out our free printable acorn template.

Craft Supplies Needed

  • Build an acorn PDF file
  • White paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Coloring materials – crayons, colored markers or coloring pencils

Cut and Paste Acorn Craft

Start by printing your PDF file onto white paper or cardstock. As a general rule white paper is fine for all of our cut out crafts but if you want something that’s a little more durable then opt for card stock instead.

Next up it’s time to grab your coloring materials, colored pencils, markers or crayons are all fine here as long as you have some fall colors, browns and greens are perfect. Color in all of the different parts of the acorn on the sheet.

As you’ll know the leaves of an oak tree change during fall so you can go with green, orange, yellow, red or brown – or pick a combination of them!

Grab your scissors and cut the different acorn pieces out following the dotted lines around each part.

On this site I’ve shared loads of free printables and templates, they’re great for helping you to keep your kids entertained whether you’re at home with toddlers looking for easy art projects, are looking for an activity for preschool or need an activity that’s quick to set up for classroom use.

You’ll find ideas for all ages and while you can find all of our free fall printables in one place these are a few of my current favorites that you and your kids might like too.

This cut and paste harvest craft is great for fall and has loads of items that you can color and cut out to make your own harvest scene including a scarecrow, tractor and lots of vegetables.

I love this cute squirrel template, there are two different designs that you can download with or without it holding an acorn.

I’ve also used this printable to make this paint resist squirrel art, it’s a really fun craft to create and I think it’s a great one for this time of year too.

You’ll find all the instructions in the post so you can make it with your kiddos too.
