Free Bunny Rabbit Template

Spring is in the air which means that it’s a great time to try out some rabbit themed art and crafts with your child.

Rabbits are a theme that fit in perfectly with spring and of course with Easter activities but they’re one that are sometimes used as part of a pet theme as well, or just because you really like rabbits. Nothing wrong with that as they are super cute!

This bunny rabbit template has two different printables in the PDF to choose from. The first is a basic rabbit outline that’s perfect for decorating while the second is a super cute bunny template with it’s eyes, nose and mouth showing.

Of course you can also print as many copies as you like so if you want to try out a few ideas or if you are making some rabbit crafts with a group in a classroom or preschool them this is a great way to save a bit of time rather than trying to draw the outline yourself.

Easter Bunny Template

If you’re looking for a printable that’s specifically for Easter then why not check out our free Easter bunny template which shows our cute bunny holding an Easter egg.

We’ve got lots of ideas for decorating this too especially it would be perfect for designing your own Easter egg.

How To Decorate Your Bunny Rabbit Template

Coloring

Coloring is always a great option if you want a simple, low-cost activity to do with kids. All you need are markers, crayons or coloring pencils so grab whatever you have at home and get going.

Pom Pom Painting

This is a technique that we’ve used a fair bit over the years as it gives a bit of texture to paintings. Pour a bit of paint onto a reusable plate or dish and grab hold of a pom pom. Dip the pom pom into your paint and then dab it onto the body of your rabbit to paint it.

If your child doesn’t like the feeling of paint on their hands (and it is likely to get on their fingers with this activity) then you can use a clothes peg to hold the pom pom.

Rabbit Resist Art

I love resist art but it only really works if you have a good outline for your shape, I think that the bunny in this printable would work.

In brief, cut out the silhouette of the rabbit then use washi tape to attach it onto thicker paper or cardstock.

Paint all over the page covering all the edges of your template and then carefully remove the template to leave the blank space underneath. To see how this works in practice, and with a much better and detailed explanation, check out our resist art squirrel craft.

Cotton Ball Rabbit Craft

I think we can all agree that bunny’s are super fluffy! To make a cotton ball rabbit craft cover the blank rabbit template with glue all over it’s body and then stick your cotton balls onto this.

Foil Painting

Foil painting is another simple technique we’ve used a fair bit, especially when my kids were toddlers or preschoolers as it gives them a big painting material to hold.

You can create this similarly to the pom pom painting but instead of a pom pom scrunch up a piece of aluminium foil / kitchen foil into a ball and use this to paint with.

If you want to make sure your craft looks like a rabbit at the end (and younger kids are obviously more inclined to paint everywhere) you can either cut the bunny shape out before you start or once the paint has dried.

Make a Banner

Made a few rabbit crafts? Why not make a simple decoration with them that you can hang up.

Simply cut the rabbit shapes out and then on the back attach them to some yarn or bakers twine with a bit of tape before hanging them up.

Pipe Cleaners Rabbit Craft

Add to your rabbit’s face by gluing some pipe cleaners onto it to make whiskers.
