Corn Template

I love sharing simple templates with you that you can use with your child to help celebrate the seasons. These templates are a great way to spark your imagination or as a quick go-to when you are low on ideas but want to do something creative.

You could share some fall or Thanksgiving themed stories together too or really go with the theme and have some corn to eat!

Because you can print as many copies as you like this corn cob template is great for use in pre-k, kindergarten and classrooms as well as at home.

The first design is a basic corn outline that’s perfect for art projects while the second template has more details showing the corn kernels – this one is great for using as a coloring sheet.

More Harvest and Thanksgiving Themed Printables:

We’ve got lots of printables that are perfect for harvest and Thanksgiving themes and in the case of our templates you’ll always find a number of suggestions for ways to use them as well.

How To Decorate Your Corn Craft Template

With two different designs available you can choose the one you want depending on what kind of activity you would like to try. If you’re stuck for ideas on how to make a corn craft why not try out one of these.

With all of these crafts you could obviously use yellow colours but try adding different colors like oranges and browns to mix it up a bit or if you use paints add a little white to it to help change the shades of yellow.

Dot Markers

Also known as bingo markers or dabbers (especially in the UK) these pens have a round tip that make a circle shape, great for making sweetcorn shapes all over the main part of your plant.

Dot markers normally have quite wide pens too which means that they’re great for little hands to hold.

Yellow Spot Stickers

These are often available in supermarkets as well as online. Using stickers is really good for fine motor skills (there’s an article here from the OT Toolbox about the benefit of playing with stickers if you haven’t read about it before.) and with their small circular shape they’re a great option for decorating your corn.

You could colour in your corn first before adding these if you like.

Tissue Paper

Make this easy tissue paper corn craft, we love the feel of this one while you’re making it and this simple activity is easy enough for preschoolers to make as well as older kids.

You might want to print your template onto cardstock paper for this craft to make sure that with the weight of the tissue paper and glue it doesn’t become too heavy for normal printer paper.

Finger Painting

Finger painting is great for activities like this because little kid fingers are kind of the right size for corn aren’t they?

As long as they’re happy getting messy fingers (and you’ve got a damp cloth nearby for after) pour a little paint onto a plate and then dip fingers in it before dabbing them onto your template.

Coloring

The absolute easiest thing to set up and often one of the most popular too.

Use these printables as corn coloring pages and let your child decorate it with coloring pencils, crayons or markers.

Hole punch

Use a hole punch and scrap paper to make this simple corn craft.

Q-Tips

Also known as cotton buds in the UK, you could dip these into yellow paint before dabbing them onto your template to make small circles over it.
