Free Snowflake Template PDF
As the weather turns colder it’s the perfect time for creating some snowflake themed crafts and activities and using a blank template like these makes it quick for you to set up activities without the stress of drawing anything out yourself.
As the PDF files can be printed as many times as you like it’s perfect if you want to create an activity in a preschool or classroom but likewise it’s also ideal for using at home as we have on many occasions.
These designs are perfect for using as snowflake coloring pages, as stencils for crafts, for decorating classroom bulletin boards or for making winter decorations. Plus we have loads of ideas for using your snowflake printables as you can see below.
What’s Included
This PDF contains two pages of snowflake templates.
- One page with a large basic snowflake template
- One page with three smaller snowflake patterns
You can get these templates at the bottom of this page by subscribing to the free Crafts on Sea newsletter, we won’t spam you and you can unsubscribe at any time – we do send information about lots of printables like this though which are perfect for keeping your kids entertained!
Printing Tips
What you print your template onto depends on what craft projects you want to try out.
For a lot of activities plain white printer paper will be fine. If you want to color your snowflake in white then I’d recommend going with blue paper as you can see below so that the white will show properly.
If you’re trying an activity that uses a lot of paint or glue then I’d recommend choosing cardstock instead as this is less likely to become over saturated, no one wants to risk their work of art tearing!

Snowflake Craft Ideas Using These Templates
The PDF’s I’m sharing here are also the ones that I’ve used for our easy snowflake crafts so if you’d like to see these free templates in action and get some ideas and instructions for how to use this then be sure to check those out too.
I love the tissue paper and mosaic ideas and I’ve shared to this page a little video of the snowflake template in action being used with another of these crafts.

Colouring
Sometimes the easiest ideas are the best! Both of these PDFs can be used as coloring pages, if you print the snowflakes on white paper then use a blue pen or marker to colour them or you could add shades of purple and green too.
Stickers
Choose your favorite snowflake and use coloured gem stickers or dot stickers to decorate it for an activity that will be great for fine motor skills as well as looking pretty.
Snowflake Garland
Cut out the snowflake shapes and then attach them together using string and a little bit of tape on the back of your snowflakes.
These would be fun hung in a bedroom or on a mantlepiece.
Pom Poms
Glue on some coloured pom poms, blue shades would be great and maybe some purples too or go wild with your favorites to create some super colorful snowflakes.
Sparkles
Add some PVA or school glue to your snowflake template and then stick on glitter or sequins to make your snowflake sparkle.
Buttons
Stick coloured buttons on to your snowflake, obviously both these and pom poms can be a choking hazard so if you are using small items with your child make sure that they are supervised at all times.
Resist Art
Cut out your snowflake and using washi tape rolled into a loop tape it onto a piece of white paper.
Using paint or markers now color all over your page making sure that all the edges of your template are covered then carefully remove it to leave a white snowflake shape on your page.
Stencil
Carefully use a pair of scissors to cut out the snowflakes leaving the outside of the paper intact.
Place your snowflake stencil on top of another piece of paper then use paint to create your snowflake. Sponge painting would work well for this.
