Winter Cut and Paste Scene

This week has been really cold where we live so I’ve already tested out making this winter scene with my daughter. While I colored in the version you’ll see below she colored her own craft and it was a great excuse to sit and chat both about the winter months themselves and about all our color choices, her’s was defiantly a lot more pink than mine!

This resource is free for you to download and I hope you have as much fun creating your own winter scene as we did.

Craft Supplies

  • Winter scene PDF
  • White paper
  • Coloring pencils, colored markers or crayons
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Cut Out Winter Activity

Start by printing out both pages of the PDF file, normal white printer paper is absolutely fine for this and is what we’ve used.

Color in the items on the first page and the background scene on the second page. Because this is a winter scene there’s lots of snow around so you can leave a lot of the background white if you’d like.

I’ll also add at this point that you don’t need to use every item on the first page. I know that might seem a bit obvious but also when I made this craft with my daughter she decided that she really didn’t want to include one of the children in the picture and that’s absolutely fine! Go with what works for you.

Once all your items are colored in then cut them out, you’ll find a dotted line around each item to guide you.

Start sticking each of your winter items onto your scene. I would recommend doing the larger items such as the cabin and trees first so that you don’t accidentally run out of room for them.

Glue on the remainder of the items to finish your winter scene.
