Snowflake Game
As much as I’m a believer of getting out in all weathers there’s also a lot of time during winter when both my kids and me just want to stay indoors with a hot chocolate, keep warm and have fun and this printable game is absolutely perfect for days like that.
There’s no dice needed, no expensive materials and as long as you have a printer and a pen you’re pretty much good to go. After spending twenty minutes just to set up a board game last weekend this is definitely more the kind of preparation time I prefer!
All you need to do is decide where you’re going to hide your snowflake and then guess where your opponent has hidden theirs.
I love all the cute winter items in this free resource with snowmen, ice skating and robins and I hope that you do too.

- Two sheets of white printer paper
- Marker pen
How To Play Our Snowflake Game
Start by printing out two copies of this page so that each player can have a copy. Each person playing needs to then secretly draw a snowflake somewhere in the bottom grid and then fold the bottom section to keep the location hidden from the other player.
Each player then takes it in turn to try and find out where their opponent’s snowflake is by asking questions, e.g. “Is your snowflake in a square with a pinecone?” or “Are there any trees in your square?”
Use the top grid to make a note of the other player’s answer. For example if they answered ‘no’ to the first question then cross off all squares that contain any part of a pinecone.
The first person to find their opponents snowflake is the winner!
If you would like to play this game more than once, for example if you are using this in a classroom setting, then you might like to laminate the printable so that you can use wipe off markers and use them again.
