I think it’s fair to say that most of us would like our kids to spend more time outdoors but sometimes it can be hard to think of ideas other than telling them to just go out and play! I know that sometimes my kids need that extra bit of persuasion to get in the garden so these easy outdoor activities for kid are perfect if you need a bit of inspiration for the day….
To put it nicely, convincing kids to do something educational isn’t always the easiest thing, I know this is true because I’ve just had that chat with one of my kids and it wasn’t exactly received well! I’m a great believer that if you want kids to do something it has to tick two major boxes, it needs to be interesting and it needs to be actually achievable – we’ve had a lot of Pinterest related disasters too! Today I’m sharing some easy science experiments for kids with simple activities they really can do….
Last weekend we tried out a really easy lava lamp experiment, both my kids love trying out simple science experiments and ones that make fun things happen are always a winner!
My son has been desperately wanting to try out some kinetic sand for ages and I have to admit that I have too! We were offered the chance to review some of the fab toys from House of Fraser and I knew straight away this is what he’d want to try, we’ve seen it played with on kids You Tube channels but I hadn’t seen it available in UK shops before. Of course rather than just have a play with it I thought I’d try something a bit extra so I set up a little activity in the form of this kinetic sand dinosaur excavation.
