How To Make A Thankful Tree Craft
Before you start decide which of the two trees you would like to make – do you want to color in the printable yourself or would you prefer it pre-colored. You only need to print out the pages you want so make sure you do this in your printer settings.
If you are coloring in your tree then do so now, I love using all the reds, oranges and yellows to color in the fall leaves. You’ll also need to color in the second page with the tree trunk.
Normally I’d suggest using markers for coloring to really make the colors pop however as you’ll be writing on the leaves for this craft I’d recommend using coloring pencils to make sure that you can see the writing on the leaves afterwards.
The following steps apply for both printables with now being the time to cut out all of the items from the printable. Follow the dotted lines to cut out all of the leaves, you don’t need to use the turkey or sign post if you don’t want to, especially if you are doing this as a collaborative craft, however adding names and ages to the signpost might make it into a nice keepsake.
On each of the leaves write something that you are thankful for. Don’t worry if you can’t think of something for every leaf although of course it’s always a good excuse to really sit and think about all the things that we are grateful for – often there’s a lot more than we can think of at first!
Glue the paper leaves onto the branches of your Thanksgiving tree and glue the turkey and signpost beneath the tree to complete your craft.
