Shell Template
Seashells are such a popular item with kids, they’re like finding tiny bits of treasure at the beach and if you or your kids have been to the sea recently then I’m sure you’ve spent some time looking for shells too!
The ocean, beach and summer are all popular topics in classrooms and preschools and this printable is perfect for all three. Of course you can also use it at home with your kids and we’ve got lots of seashell craft ideas that you can use get some inspiration.
This template is designed as a basic outline that you can use for easy crafts for kids.
You can print as many copies as you like but obviously please don’t edit the PDF or sell it.
Sea Shell Craft Ideas
Templates are great for kids crafts because they’re very much a starting point for ideas and creativity.
I’m sharing a few ideas on how to decorate this paper shell but I’m certain that once you get started you’ll also come up with lots of ideas yourself. I normally find that there’s nothing quite like a rummage through your craft supplies to get the ideas flowing!
Coloring
The absolute easiest and go to activity for decorating has to be coloring and this printable makes a great seashell coloring page.
Choose your favourite markers, coloring pencils, crayons or paints for a simple activity.
Shell Suncatcher
Use this template to make our sweet shell suncatcher craft that looks great displayed in windows.
Collage
Collages are a great way for kids to experiment with different materials and textures while getting creative and you can also use it as an excuse to practice scissor skills too.
This would be a really nice one to do while actually looking at shells as so many of them have different textures.
Use scissors to cut out different textured material such as corrugated card or sandpaper and use this to decorate your shell by sticking them on with some glue.
If you are using material with an uneven surface you might find that school glue / PVA glue works better than a gluestick.
You might also want to print this onto yellow paper to give it a traditional shell colour for it’s background.
Bleeding Tissue Paper
Bleeding tissue paper crafts can be a little bit messy but I think that the effect that they make definitely make the risk worth it!
