What You'll Find on This Page
Sandcastle Template
Building sandcastles is totally an essential activity for kids whether that’s at the beach or in a sandpit. Actually if you asked my kids they’d probably say that knocking down the sandcastles afterwards is essential too, I think it’s one of the times when kids are just allowed to be a bit destructive without it being a bad thing!
Whether your kids are happy making one basic sandcastle or they build a whole community along with a moat, it’s definitely one of those activities that’s pretty much universally enjoyed so sandcastle themed crafts and activities are great to include if you’re thinking about summer or beach themes.
This PDF file is free to download and you’ll find two slightly different sandcastle images in it, one with a flag and one without. Pick and print your favorite and you’re ready to get started.
Sandcastle Craft Ideas
Coloring
Coloring is always a great option for kids of all ages and with it’s nice basic outline these sandcastle templates are ideal for younger kids as there aren’t too many small tricky details to them.
Print out your favorite and grab your paints, crayons, coloring pencils or markers to use this as a sandcastle coloring sheet.
Mosaic
Mosaic’s are a great way to practice both scissor skills and fine motor skills as you glue your mosaic pieces onto your template.
Rather than the traditional pottery pieces we go for paper mosaics and as well as colored paper you could tray construction paper, tissue paper, corrugated card or even some sandpaper to add a bit of texture.
Squeegee Painting
We made a fun sandcastle craft using this template and a squeegee, it’s a great alternative if you fancy a change from using a paintbrush!
Add A Background
Why not decorate a background that you could add your sandcastle to? Grab some cardstock and paint it with yellows and blues, then color your sandcastle, cut it out and glue it onto your new background.
Free Beach Themed Printables

This palm tree template is one of our newest additions and I absolutely love it, it makes me think of fun, sunny holidays.
This sea shell template is super sweet and would be a great inclusion to beach or ocean themed bulletin boards too. We’ve used this printable before to make a shell suncatcher which is a great way to use up some left over craft materials too.
We love our scavenger hunt ideas here as they can bring a new lease of life to any activity or place. Our beach scavenger hunt has eighteen items to find and color including a bucket and spade, ice cream and seaweed.
It’s perfect for using on your beach trip but likewise you could also use it if you are looking through a book about beaches.
