Lighthouse Craft Ideas
Coloring
Coloring is always both an easy and popular choice for a simple activity and these printables make great lighthouse coloring pages.
All you need to do is print out the design that you like the most and grab your crayons, colored markers or coloring pencils and you’re ready to get started.
Will you go for traditional red and white or blue and white stripes or choose pinks and purples, a rainbow design or add a bit of glitter?!
Stickers
Using stickers is a great way to support your child’s fine motor skills and if your kids are anything like mine then they’ll love using stickers too!
There are two different ways that you could use stickers to decorate your lighthouse craft.
You could use plain spot or square stickers to fill in the stripes of the lighthouse itself or you could use ocean or beach themed stickers to decorate the background.
You could add the sun, clouds and some birds to the sky or why not have a whale or dolphin jumping out of the sea.
Mosaic
Kids can cut shapes out of colored scrap paper to glue onto their lighthouse to create a mosaic effect.
If you are making this craft with young children such as preschoolers or toddlers then you can do then cutting for them and they can place (or sprinkle) the cut paper onto the design.
Making paper mosaics is a great excuse for talking with your child about the different colors and shapes that you are using too.
Paper Plate
You can easily use this PDF design to make a lighthouse paper plate craft.
All you need to do is grab your paints or markers and then design a seaside scene on your paper plate, then color in your lighthouse, cut it out using scissors and glue it onto your paper plate.
The design of the lighthouse means it will be bigger than the paper plate but personally I really like the effect that this has, as if it’s towering over your design.
